EcoCarbonio Project: from waste to resource
13/05/2020EcoCarbonio, one of the 33 winners of Regione Lombardia's tender "Call Hub Ricerca e Innovazione", is an innovative project to recycle carbon fibre: from waste, addressed to landfills nowadays, to resource, as secondary raw material with innovative and technical features.
The global consumption of carbon fiber has constantly grown over the past 20 years and still does. This has created an increase of industrial waste from the production of virgin fibres. By the way, carbon fibres allow to save 40% weight comparing to traditional metallic materials and an important Co2 reduction: this is why their use might still increase.
